The Drivers

The Team Gladman driver line-up consists of father and son duo - Jonathan and David Shepherd, who will both contest the 2008 ELF Renault Clio Cup, run by Cheshire based Amery Motorsport. Following an initial baptism of fire, racing in the hugely competitive Clio Cup in 2007, both drivers were finishing in the points towards the end of the season, capped with a ‘Driver of the Day’ award for David at Thruxton.

Previously Jonathan had raced for four years in the John Cooper Challenge in the ‘Club Class’ finishing top novice in his very first season. Son David (alias ‘Dreaded Dave’) finished 5th in the 2005 ‘Club Class’ in his first season, moving up to the ‘S Class’ in 2006, finishing sixth overall with several fastest laps and podium finishes. The Clio Cup is a tough training ground for drivers, so not only do Jonathan and David have to cope with a grid of 30 plus ‘wanna-be’ Touring Car drivers, they are also determined to beat each other!
